MICRO-PRO APPLICATOR Overview

OPICO’s pneumatic electronic applicator is typically used for accurately applying microgranules (e.g. Avadex), and slug pellets.

The pneumatic Micro-Pro 8E (8 outlets) and Micro-Pro 16E (16 outlets) are usually fitted to a set of Cambridge rolls and drills. The metering roller is driven electronically utilising a GPS receiver for accurate forward speed monitoring on both models, with air supplied via a hydraulic fan.

Key Features:

  • Micro-Pro 8E maximum spread width of 6m, hopper capacity 180 litres (400 litres optional)
  • Micro-Pro 16E maximum spread with of 12.3m, hopper capacity 400 litres
  • Individual metering roller per outlet – accurate application and spread pattern
  • Blue “fine” seed roller as standard – other rollers available
  • Adjustable outlets – balances airflow effect on pattern
  • Accurate Avadex application – independently tested

Models & Dimensions

Micro-Pro 8E

  • Outputs: 8 outlets
  • Working width: up to 6 m
  • Hopper capacity: 180 L (with an optional 400 L upgrade)
  • Weight: 123 kg

Micro-Pro 16E

  • Outputs: 16 outlets
  • Working width: up to 12 m (extending to approximately 12.3 m when mounted on HE-VA rolls)
  • Hopper capacity: 400 L
  • Weight: 160 kg

Metering and Delivery System

  • Individual metering roller per outlet ensures consistent granule dosing across the entire working width—essential for low-rate, high-accuracy applications

  • GPS-controlled electronic drive: The metering roller speed adjusts continuously to match forward speed, maintaining steady application rates even with changes in travel speed

  • Load-sensing drive motor monitored by in-cab electronics ensures the target rate is maintained regardless of speed fluctuations

Distribution and Airflow

  • Spacing of 75 cm between outlets achieves a robust double-overlap spread pattern, delivering even distribution and minimizing striping

  • Hydraulic fan provides airflow to transport granules to the outlets. It includes a fan speed sensor and alarm to alert the operator of airflow issues

  • Stainless steel baffle ensures even airflow distribution and prevents multiple outlets from being fed by a single segment—maintaining precision across all outlets

Mounting Options & Accessories

  • Commonly mounted on Cambridge rolls, drills, or via boomed/trailed setups (including use with HE-VA King Rollers for 12.3 m coverage).

  • Suspension and shock-absorbing systems help maintain accurate boom contouring on rough terrain; trailed versions are compatible with ATVs/UTVs for reduced soil compaction.

  • Accessories include hydraulic and control cable extensions, GPS on/off switch, and HE-VA fitting kits for roll mounting
